Roger, I had a belt squeak a couple of weeks back. I
couldn't figure out why until I replaced the rear
tire and adjusted the belt properly using the little
adjuster checking tool that comes with tool box. I
was too tight. check your belt tension, especially
on new Savages. Good Luck.
